This style is believed to have been originated by Bruce Nelson as his "Professional" model, and later popularized by Bianchi International as the "Avenger" model (reportedly influenced by the input of Colonel Charles Askins).
This style is excellent for comfortably carrying most handguns, and provides very good concealment. The belt loop on back supports the weight while the extended belt slot pulls the grip-frame tightly into the body.
I make these for both revolvers and semi-autos
A NOTE ABOUT HOLSTER MOUTH REINFORCEMENT: I received many requests for holster mouth reinforcement on this model, and I offer that option for those who require it. Please note the first photo to the right, showing this style holster WITH NO MOUTH REINFORCEMENT supporting a 20-pound section of railroad track with NO DISTORTION of the holster mouth! So, if you want reinforcement I will provide it, but is it really needed?
OCTOBER 2009 UPDATE:
Additional product development has resulted in new features available on this model. A modified rear belt attachment, coupled with a welted-seam construction, provide improved comfort and increased height of ride on the belt (see top photo at right). This is being offered as an optional feature at this time; based upon customer preferences this may become the new standard design for this model.
These can be made with, or without, the detachable retention strap displayed. Please note that this style retention generally works only for handguns having an exposed hammer (if you have any questions about how your handgun might function with this feature please get in touch with me).
